Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 14, 2026
Daily Catch (“the game”, “we”, “us”) is a free daily fishing game made by Gob Industries. This policy explains what information the game collects, why, and the choices you have. We keep it short because we collect very little.
What we collect
- A random player ID and display name. The first time you visit, your browser creates a random ID (not linked to your real identity) and a fun name like “Sleepy Heron 42”. You can change the name at any time.
- Game data. For each day you play: your choices and inputs during the game, the result (fish, weight, length, score), and when you played. We replay your inputs on our server to make sure every leaderboard entry is legitimate.
- Optional account. If you create an account, we store your username and a securely hashed version of your password (we never see or store the password itself). We don’t ask for your email.
- Technical data. Like nearly every website, our servers receive your IP address and basic request details (browser type, page requested, time). We use them to run the site, prevent abuse (for example, rate limiting) and fix problems. They may appear in server logs, which we keep for up to 30 days.
- Anonymous usage counts. We count page views and whether ad spaces were filled, as simple daily totals with no IDs, cookies or personal data attached.
Cookies and local storage
The game itself does not set cookies. It saves a few things in your browser’s local storage so the game works: your player ID and display name, your sound setting, an in-progress game (so a reload doesn’t lose it) and a copy of your stats. Clearing your browser data removes them.
Our advertising partner, Google, uses cookies as described below.
Advertising
The game is free because it shows ads served by Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google Ads Settings, or opt out of some third-party vendors’ use of cookies at aboutads.info.
- Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services: policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
- If you’re in the European Economic Area, the UK or Switzerland, you’ll be asked for consent before personalized ads are shown, through a Google-certified consent tool. You can change your choice at any time from the privacy link it provides.
- If you’re in a U.S. state with privacy laws (such as California), you can opt out of the “sale” or “sharing” of personal information for targeted advertising using the “Do not sell or share my personal information” option shown by Google’s consent tool.
How we use information
- To run the game: the daily puzzle, your streaks, Fishdex and stats, and leaderboards.
- To keep it fair and secure: verifying runs, preventing cheating, spam and abuse.
- To understand and improve the game using aggregate counts.
- To show ads that keep the game free.
If you’re in the EEA or UK: we process game and technical data to provide the service you asked for and for our legitimate interests in keeping it secure and fair; personalized advertising relies on your consent.
What other people can see
Leaderboards are public and show your display name, your catch (species, weight, length) and how many casts you used. Your player ID is never shown publicly.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information. We use a few service providers to run the game: our hosting provider (Railway), our network and security provider (Cloudflare) and our advertising partner (Google). Weather comes from Open-Meteo; we request it by location only, and no information about you is sent. We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the game and its players.
How long we keep it
Game records and accounts are kept while the game is running so your history and streaks work, unless you ask us to delete them. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days. Anonymous daily counts may be kept indefinitely.
Your choices and rights
You can change your display name on the Stats page, clear your browser data at any time, and control advertising cookies using the links above. Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, or to object to certain processing. To make a request, contact us at [email protected] and include your player ID so we can find your data.

Children
Daily Catch is a general-audience game and isn’t directed at children under 13. We don’t knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us personal information, contact us and we’ll delete it.
International visitors
Our servers are in the United States. By using the game you understand that information will be processed there.
Changes
If we change this policy, we’ll update the date at the top. Significant changes will be noted on the site.
